Well, just who is Ajay D’Souza??

Ajay is a Geek:

Now I know Ajay will definitely protest being called that – but what else would you call a straight A student (all his life) who not only topped his school in his SSC but also had a board rank in the “Mumbai Merit List”? As if that wasn’t geeky enough, after his two years at Bhavan’s College, he followed it up by (easily) getting into Engineering College (Sardar Patel College of Engineering). And then (yeah, now we believe he’s NOT a geek) he was directly absorbed (campus recruitment) into Larsen & Toubro Ltd where he worked at as ‘Design Executive’ Control and Automation. Must stop now, before I stab myself for being a mere mortal in the company of genius.

Ajay’s into Computers:

Surprise Surprise (how many geeks do you know who aren’t?!!) Difference is – Ajay’s really very good. Unlike many of the computer fanatics, Ajay has really carved a niche for himself on the WWW. He started off with My Sherlock Holmes Pages (now Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) which soon became (& still is) the number 1 Sherlock Site online, with all the short stories, novels & other trivia on the private detective. As if that wasn’t enough, he then started MegaThemes.com (now dead) which housed his designed desktop themes and screensavers. The Lord of the Rings Desktop Theme, which has won the EzThemes Theme of the Day (given to the most downloaded theme) 100 times and was the highest download Desktop Theme for the year 2003 and the second highest for 2004. I could go on – about how his created Dreamweaver Extensions were accepted by Macromedia, how he administered various forums among others, but instead I’ll do a (shameless) promo for my website – Glorify God – where Ajay acted as admin & site maintainer. Will move on now.

Ajay sings:

No, seriously! Ask Ajay what he’s doing evenings & chances are he’ll tell you he’s at choir practice (for the Sacred Heart Parish) or at some Mass or the other. He’s also suddenly become quite the dancer & can be seen heating up the dance floor (especially during those fast jive numbers!) at every party. Not so geeky now, huh? (Ajay paid me good money to add that line). Would end now… … but it really wouldn’t be a complete picture of Ajay – he’s really a pretty well rounded person. So instead I’ll write a list as follows:

10 Other things about Ajay:

(10) Ajay is an absolute darling. Really. How many people do you know would let someone like me write something like this & post it online for all & sundry to read? Could be that he’s daft, but have already established he’s far from that!

(09) Ajay is really a hottie. Ok, forget about all the geek stuff I said earlier… Ajay is tall, fairly wheatish & very cute I once posted a pic of him in “Hot or Not” – for which I was brutally murdered – but which got great reviews. And seeing him in person is even better

(08) Ajay rides a motorbike. Correction, Ajay adores his motorbike (the words obsessive & compulsive cleaner also spring to mind).

(07) Ajay is a Movie Buff. He actually reads all the reviews & goes to all the shows while they’re still “hot” & fresh.

(06) Ajay is a faithful & practicing Catholic.

(05) Ajay doesn’t drink alcohol (not even wine / beer) & doesn’t smoke. And yes girls, he’s available

(04) Ajay loves food (mostly junk stuff). It’s very hard to get Ajay out of my house without giving him a meal. And while he loves Pizza, he’ll also down a steak at mind boggling speeds!

(03) Ajay is very focused. Rarely do people really know what they want from life or how they’re going to get there. Not Ajay. He’ll give our finance minister a complex with his 5 yr plans.

(02) Ajay was born in Mumbai, India. Though he has his roots in Mangalore, he permanently resides in Mumbai, speaks English & Hindi (struggles with Marathi) and celebrates his birthday (every year!) on the 16^th August.
