SPA Enhancements

Snap Preview Anwhere has seen a major upgrade over the past few days.

Noticeable changes include the addition of the Snap Link Icon (SLI), which will add a small icon to a link which will display a preview, thus letting your visitors know that they can expect a popup on hovering the mouse there.

An advanced builder has been added to this list and a new signup system as well.

You also have an opt-in blog badge to give your readers the choice if they want to turn-on/off the display of the bubble.

I’ve glad Snap is making so many changes by listening to users.

I will be updating my plugin to reflect these enhancements to SPA. You can expect a release withing a few days. So stay tuned.

Hi Mike,

You may have noticed I’ve already got this functionality on my blog.

SPA introduced the link icon recently. I’ve modified and am testing the plugin here. It seems to be working well, so expect a new version tomorrow.

Great! The SPA icon is good for a standard link. For links to a pdf, xls, mp3, zip or to special sites like wikipedia, flickr, myspace it would be fine to have a different icon displayed. I like the “Trigger: Icon Only” option as implemented on your site.

“Trigger: Icon Only” has been implemented by SPA and my plugin now gives you the ability to change it.

Have you tried the link indication plugin along with SPA?

Yes, you will get two icons - the SPA icon and an additional link indication icon depending from the type of the link. It’s too much “icon vodoo” behind a link

Well, one will definitely lose out. You can disable the link icons sitewide for SPA. If you are pointing towards pdfs, zips or similar, I think it would be a good idea to add the class="snap_nopreview" to those links.

Thanks a lot!!! As a compromise I have deactiviated the CCS class attributes for external links in the link indication plugin which gives me now a stand-alone SPA icon for standard external links and for special sites or document types I can live with a double icon for the moment. Now I will wait for the release of your plugin!
