The Power of 8 Wishes

In my correspondence with Douglas Karr today, he pointed me towards Paul Sanchez’ 8 Wishes campaign.

Paul hopes to raise $1 million which will go to 100 kids suffering from dyslexia in the form of $10,000 scholarships. This is his first wish. Besides this, he also has seven other wishes.

The idea behind this campaign is explained by Douglas on his site. You can also view a video of one of Paul’s wishes be granted along with a link to ChipIn.

The campaign asks you to donate only $8.88 towards the cause and make a post about the same.
The campaign was kicked off by Paul when he set out on bicycle around the perimeter of USA.

With twenty days to go only two wishes have been fulfilled and less than $5000 has raised.

If you’re still thinking about donating, you have two incentives to do so.

1. Douglas has promised to post about your blog on his site.
2. If you link to Paul’s Video you will get a free Divx software worth $19.99. After you donate drop in an email to freedivx@divx.com

    Thanks so much for joining in the cause! This is a campaign for exposure… not big bucks. It’s getting the blogosphere involved that’s key to this campaign.

    It’s also a great opportunity to show the power of the blogger – not just in criticism, but in selflessness in helping others.
