I’d like to announce that I have just updated my Top 10 plugin.

Top 10 will count the number of page views on your single posts on a daily as well as overall basis. You can then display the page view count on individual posts and pages as well as display a list of most popular posts based on page views.

This update adds a much requested feature, viz. the option to separately choose if you want to display the number of views on pages and posts. By default both options are turned on. You can change the setting in the options page in WP-Admin.

I have also modified the plugin for localisation. I’m looking for translators for the plugin. If you’re interested please contact me.

I’ve just released a minor update to WP Ajax Edit Comments.

WP Ajax Edit Comments allows users and admins to edit comments on a post. Users can edit their own comments for a limited time, while admins can edit all comments.

This update adds a much requested feature, viz. the ability to disable AEC on WordPress static pages. By default this has been enabled. You can head over to the options page in WP-Admin and turn it off if you want to.

On other counts, I am looking for icons for AEC. Currently, Ajax Edit Comments 2.0 makes use of the Circular Icons set by Ben Gillbanks. I intend to provide "styles" for AEC, where you can select which set of icons you would like displayed.

I managed to watch Transformers last week, making it my first movie in Bangalore since I came here more than three months back. My initial plan was to work on Saturday morning from home, but al my hopes were dashed when the electricity out here conked off at 10am and didn’t return till 5pm!

If I thought that Pune was bad with its power problems, then Bangalore has started to win! The compromise was that I had to work the whole of Sunday. The good part was I caught up on much needed sleep.

Vincent and me went over to the BSNL office in the afternoon to apply for a new broadband connection. Airtel turned out to be a really crappy alternative, when they found it “not feasible” to give us a new connection. We were surprised at the efficiency and speed of BSNL, which, despite being a government firm, has some very efficient staff.

Airtel has turned out to be a rather painful connection when I received a message a few days back billing me 50 bucks for downloading some game that I didn’t even know existed. Calling up the helpline is rather useless, nor is visiting their help center. I’ve been asked to check back on the day of the new billing cycle! I’m well aware of others in the past as well of being incorrectly billed by Airtel.

We had plans to catch the movie in the evening. However, before that we headed off to Garuda mall and spent sometime in the Barista out there. It has been a while since I went to a Barista and every time I go there, I realize that I prefer it anytime over Cafe Coffee Day. Will make sure I go off to a Barista when I go to Mumbai next.

We caught the movie at that place. 200 bucks was worth it for Transformers, however, it just isn’t fair when Marise watches it at half the price in Mumbai!

We headed home after the “late” night show and crashed rather immediately, since both Vincent and me had to go to work the next day. Spent a long long long week in office with several late nights. Friday was the only relatively light day.

Today was spent at home. The persons from BSNL came over today and fixed the phone line. The modem should be here in a few days and we’ll be hooked onto a 512kbps unlimited internet connection!

We initially at plans to go shopping, but laziness and sleep won over it. So, possibly next week, I’ll target a few shops that are offering sales.

Tomorrow shall be yet another lazy day. However, I do need to put in a few hours of work. May also work on some more of my WordPress plugins. I already released an update of Ajax Edit Comments today.

I caught the IMAX experience of Transformers last year and loved it. So, it won’t be surprising that I was eagerly awaiting the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

For those of you who are not from this planet, Revenge of the Fallen is the second part. It’s been two years since Megatron was defeated. The humans and the autobots have formed an alliance. At the same time, the Decepticons are gathering forces. We’re not really sure what they are looking for (at least for the first half hour).

The movie opens with a spectacular action screen as the humans and autobots fight together to destroy a Decepticon. The Decepticon dies, but with a message, a message that would soon change the world as we know it!

At the same time, Sam is getting ready to go to college. Wonder why he would leave the spectacularly hot Megan Fox and do that!

The end is a bit weird and people claim the movie is too long, which it is. But, machines, Megan Fox, more machines, guns, war and a rail gun, why would anyone complain?!

This is one movie you have to watch and make sure it is in a theatre.

At long last we managed to get a weekend last week. It wasn’t much of a weekend cause I spent a good amount of time working from home. We intended to get our bike work done but last Saturday was the second Saturday of the month and all government offices out here were closed.

Instead we decided to go to Spar in the Oasis mall, which is walking distance from our place. Well, it is walking distance when you are going there, not when you’re laden with bags on your way back.

We ended up doing tonnes of shopping (our highest ever) and had to take a rick back home. The plus point is that now we have a fully stocked fridge with fruits and basic vegetables. We haven’t attempted non-veg as yet.

This has also ensured that I could eat corn-flakes for breakfast for the last three days

On Sunday we decided to go off to the Pizza Hut in Forum for lunch. The new menu has been made available in all the places!

On our way back we dropped in at the computer shop on the way. We finally picked up the UPS, which is an absolute necessity in this place where there is either constant load shedding on repeated power cuts. I also picked up a mouse, but it turned out to be a non-USB one, so will be exchanging that this weekend.

We had a training programme scheduled for this weekend, but it seems to be canceled now. So, hopefully, I will get the road tax for the bike done this week!
