Christmas and Internet has been kind of responsible for no posts for quite a while on this blog. Christmas is over, but the internet continues to remain bad.

So I’m gonna make a post while I have the chance to do so.

I ended the week before Christmas with a wedding mass that we were singing for. As usual, we trooped out to eat after the mass. We chose Domino’s because of its proximity. My opinion that Domino’s is not an eatin was re-enforced.

The service was pathetic, they took a great deal of time to serve us (their thirty minute guarantee should apply to those eating in as well!)

I didn’t go for the Christmas midnight mass, as I prefer the morning masses. Did the second reading as well.

We made last minute plans to go for the Christmas Dance at Bandra Gym.
Picked up The Mouse from her place and then the ticket from a friend of hers. Stopped at Pot Pourii in Bandra for some dinner. I guess that either I don’t know what to eat at the place or the food just sucks there!

We reached the gym before 9pm and jived a good deal until 11.30pm with a small break in the middle.

With a little food in our bellies we resumed dancing until they moved the music inside and started playing stuff I hate dancing on.
By 3.30am we were totally bored and decided to just leave instead of waiting for the slow music to start.
Slept a good portion of 26th which is expected when you don’t sleep most of the night

Had choir practice on 26th evening to practice for yet another wedding mass on the 28th at Dominic Savio. Couples really need to prepare for their masses!

27th was the day of the grand Blogger Christmas party organized by Ms. Voice in Her Head.

I reached there in the afternoon itself to help her to get things in order (little wonder I never throw parties).
Her Mom is a real sweetheart and without her I am sure the party wouldn’t have come close to being as good as it was, especially the food aspect.

It felt a little weird as a few there, Melody and Sakshi in particular, referred to me as India’s No. 1 Resident blogger. It’s nice to have that title, but I definitely am not that. And more importantly, I never set my sights only on India
Not being too much of the extrovert I chose to keep to myself and the mouse for a better part of the evening.

Today was an unfruitful day in college. However I did get my HDFC account closed, printouts of the transcripts and gave my bike for servicing, which means that I am without wheels for a day.

The weekend ahead is going to be with the books, with two mocks and classes as well.

Haven’t had much time the past week to actually sit down and patiently blog.

So what have I been busy with?

Studies

For one, a good portion of my day has gone in studying. It can be both fun and frustrating at times!

My study partner came over one day and I went to her place the next day. Her mum cooks well

VPS

Besides the studies the rest of the day has been spent working on my new VPS. Once again I have decided to plunge into the world of VPSes. The last time I tried it out, I faced with much failure.

Gave up the idea of VPSes, but after the scam called Webhostplus (which took over Netbunch) X(, I was on the lookout for a good Reseller Plan or VPS. Always must have your sites spread out.
After a great deal of research I settled with Future Hosting.

Guess the bad luck of VPSes has followed me out here as well, because the the node on which my VPS was on gave some problems and my VPS in particular decided to act up!
The support out there (let me mention Vik in particular) were quick to act on this. Even better that a new VPS created for me on another server.

I’m back online again. Will be moving this blog there soon.

And this will be the new home of WebberZone.

And exams

Gave the AIMCAT this Sunday. Turned out to be a 180 mark paper. What I really like about T.I.M.E. is that every paper so far has been a surprise. This is really getting me mentally prepared to expect just about anything from the CAT.

The paper was good. Actually did a good deal of solving in DI. Verbal was a bit difficult and did run out of time for Maths.

Results are out Wednesday evening so will come to know how I stand.

So, that is how life stands currently.
Will try and keep this blog a lot more updated with my personal life. Also need a lot more pics online.

As most of you are aware, I quit my job in order to study further.

Began Saturday with a visit to the accounts department at L&T to finish of the settlement. Collected my service certificate

Skipped my class on Saturday (bad boy!) because I had to sell off my two cellphones.

Am planning on buying a N90, N80 or a N93, depending on a lot of factors. What do you suggest?

Went for my AIMCAT on Sunday. This times was a lot better, though I am sure everybody else must have felt the same.

Class was on Numbers. Glad I attended because I learnt stuff I would never have dreamed of!

Went for the 6pm mass.

Woke up nice and late today Had plans on cleaning my PC and the area around it, but that didn’t happen. Did take out the VA books and started studying. I kinda like doing that, though I don’t have much of an option anyway!

Am very pleased with an extremely productive week at work.

Inspite of heavy rains that brought down Mumbai, work went on as usual.

Have managed to meet both the deadlines that were set for this week. The card problems which were troubling so much last week have all been solved with three units ready for handover

Next step involves some extensive testing which I hope to complete by next week.

I haven’t had much personal time, because have been reaching home really dead the past few days and the rains haven’t helped too much.

Got the weekend ahead already planned out to some extent. For one Saturday evening and whole of Sunday goes into my classes.

BTW, for those who aren’t subscribed to my blog feed, I made another post of my last days in Muscat.

Ohh, and this post is being made from my home. The internet if finally running out here after four days of downtime!

Woke up on Saturday morning to finally find that the internet network was up in my area. Next step was to renew my account.

But before that…

the Li’l White Mouse came over in the morning. After a good lunch, we left to pick up a jacket for the rains.

Dropped her off at station, and then picked up a good jacket. Also picked up an umbrella, though a tad bit expensive

Next dropped in at the T.I.M.E. office to inquire about the classes for the CAT and CET and signed up for the same. First class: 6.30pm
Decided to go for it.

On the way home stopped off at the Exatt Office to renew my crappy internet connection. Didn’t leave until they renewed it in front of me.
So far it hasn’t given a problem. But this is just the beginning. Also the prices have increased on the unlimited connections.

After a quick stopover at home I headed off to MVLU College for the MBA class. The first lecture was on Data Interpretation and I realized that I need a lot of practice to even entertain the idea of getting a call.

This was further confirmed this morning when I gave the AIMCAT. I haven’t totalled the score yet, but I am sure it will be bad. So much for all the big claims by the administration that everything had been cleared and we won’t have waterlogging! X(

Here is where I mention the horrible time I had wading through almost knee deep water on my way home. And it could have been waist deep had I left an hour earlier!

Picked up a pair of floaters from a local shop yesterday. Once again I was impressed by my Mom‘s bargaining abilities.

Ended Sunday evening with mass. The youth had organized a special mass titled The Happening. Mass in a slightly different style.
Did not sing. And now it is going to be extremely difficult to attend choir practice or the masses (except when we sing at 6pm on Sunday) because the MBA classes have taken my entire Saturday evening and all of Sundays. This will be the case atleast for the next five months. No complains however, because this time I am keen

It’s back to a long week at work tomorrow. I’m going to be extremely exhausted for the next two months!
