Met up with Lil white mouse both yesterday and today for dinner. Both yesterday and today were quiet days spent at home. I’ve been trying my best to recover all the sleep that I missed for so long.

The problem is that the sleep is constantly disrupted as I need to wake up before 10am as the water goes out here. This water problem is a big pain in the a**.

I met Lil white mouse in the evening at the Subway near my place. My once regular joint has become a once in a few months joint.

We had the “sub of the day” which turned out to be the Chicken Meat ball, which was also the first time that I had this sandwich.

And today, we went off to Dynasty. We were rather disappointed by the food out there today. While the spicy crab meat soup was good, we were left hunting for chicken pieces in the chicken schezwan noodles. Took a rick straight home after this.

Tomorrow I have crab for lunch

I mentioned two days back that me and my dad were to visit an Amway seminar. Turns out that it wasn’t Amway, but this was actually conducted by Network 21.

Network 21 is a network of individuals who train you to sell the products. They are also the key people in helping you build your Amway pipeline.

The mathematics of the entire Amways sales process is extremely interesting. I’m no expert in it, and I doubt I ever will be, but by cutting down the middle man Amway is able to give you the profits. So, you end up getting paid to purchase and use their products.

The tier system is rather interesting. I’ll probably blog about this at a later point in time, when things are a bit clearer

Anyway, I liked what I saw and have decided to slowly switch my buying habits to Amway products both at home and when I move to Bangalore in April. The main reason being the excellent quality of the products.

Try and test… like and use… don’t like… dispose!

Met Lil white mouse last evening. Actually, picked her up from Vikhroli and we dropped in to the Subway at Powai. Seems like either the Rs250 for two subs and two cokes promo has been discontinued or it’s only at the Andheri (E) subway.

Yesterday was the Chicken Tikka sub, so we happily picked three of those and came back home. Washed one each down with Thumbs Up, which still remains one my favorite drinks (Coke is for kids!).

The third sub was left for this mornings healthy breakfast. Gosh am I stuffed now. Don’t know what plans are for lunch or dinner. And, I’m off to Pune early tomorrow morning.

Began the week with a presentation in Advances in SCM on Tuesday (Monday was just another day). Our job was to rate the supply chain of any company in any sector.

We chose Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. We had to rate their Inventory Turnover, Asset Turnover and Cash-to-cash cycle time to arrive at the final rating.

Yesterday was Pongal, which is a festival celebrated by Tamils on the first day of Thai to mark the harvest. As part of Pongal, there was a special lunch organized with a huge variety of food, sweets etc.

Needless to say I ate a good deal

Spent the rest of the day in my room blogging, catching up on reading and the usual. Asked my roommates to pickup sandwiches from Subway just as they did on Monday. Now, someone needs to go off to the city on Friday

Been tied down all of this week with either gallivanting or working on my technology blog. So, here is a day-by-day summary of the last week or so.

25th December

It’s Christmas day. Because of the Terror Attacks in Mumbai [Photos], almost all places in Mumbai canceled their Christmas dances. Not that I went out a lot, but this time we decided to just have a quiet dinner.

Dinner was at the usual spot, viz. Dynasty. Lil white mouse‘s sister Ruth joined us for dinner.

26th December

I had planned in advance to dedicate this day to technology shopping, which is exactly what I did. Went over to Lil white mouse’s place in the morning and after lunch we took a trip to my vendor in Lamington Road.

Picked up a DVD Writer and a 500GB WD Elements for Lil white mouse, a 6-cell battery for Akshat‘s laptop and pendrives both Akshat and Aditya.

I also bought a Notebook Cooling pad, which is this cute plastic pad with three fans that has been effectively keeping my laptop cool. I do however, need to open the same and dust it properly.

27th December

My dear cousin Seema is down from the US and she decided to drop in to my place. We then headed over to my Grandma‘s place in Bandra. Picked up lunch at the Subway on Linking Road. The sandwiches sure cost a bomb especially when you are looking at two footlongs but they fill you up well. Spent the entire day at my Grandma’s place.

28th December

Sunday, once again. Began it as usual with mass in the morning. Lil white mouse came over in the afternoon to spend some quiet time at home.

29th December

This day Lil white mouse’s parents celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary and I joined them for dinner. We decided to go to Amrut Punjab, but being a Monday, the place was closed. So, instead we decided to go to Gajalee in Phoenix Mills. I have been to the one in Seepz, Andheri several times, but this was my first at Phoenix. And, I was disappointed by the service.

The food was good as usual, but the waiters were totally disorganized and unresponsive and we had to wait a long long time for food. For the prices they charge!

Desert was jack fruit ice cream at Natural Ice Cream.

30th December

Spent the entire day at home and went over to Lil white mouse’s place to fix the DVD writer. We then went to Maroosh in Phoenix Mills. Dinner was kababs and biryani. The food isn’t as good or maybe it doesn’t fit our taste buds. Desert was once again ice cream at Natural which is the shop next door.

31st December

We decided to spend New Year at home, our respective homes i.e. I was also tired with the activities of the previous week. So, on 31st, I decided to unveil the brand new look of Techtites. I have great plans for that blog. In spite of it being on the web for well over two years, it hasn’t really taken off. I’m trying to get new talent to blog for me, but it is always difficult to find good technical writers.

1st January

A new day in the new year. Lil white mouse came over and we ordered pizza from Smokin’ Joes’. I think they have among the best pizzas. Only problem is that they don’t have great offers which makes regular pizza eating expensive!

2nd January

Today. Decided to finally get down and complete this blog post. Plan on spending the rest of the day blogging. May also work on a plugin or two if I have the energy!

So, what have you been upto this New Year?

Dad’s down for another day and when he is down, we usually set out for a father-son-on-a-bike-visiting trip. This time the destination was banks. We visited five banks in the area of Andheri and Vile Parle.

We also managed to grab some vadapav and sugarcane juice, both of which will be eternal favourites for any Mumbaite.

I remembered that I could get my N73 repaired. The joystick button was messed up and so needed to get the entire pad changed. Dad too had lost the tiny cap of the joystick of his N73. Gave my phone for repair and spent a good five hours with an almost zero contact list!

Had to meet up with Melody and Cloreisha at Bandra, but both got cancelled as I could not collect my phone until six. Since plans got cancelled, I visited my grandma at Khar as Dad needed me to pick up some stuff. I still reached Bandra around 7pm. My other grandma wasn’t at home.

Decided to drop in to the Senior-Junior Mumbai meet at Biona. Biona has closed down their big joint and taken up a small place, which was way too small.

Didn’t spend much time there as I had to meet Lil white mouse and Ruth for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Dinner was just popcorn (a huge tub), samosas and pepsi.

Was so tired Saturday night that I just crashed into bed. Went for mass this morning. Today happens to be my cousin Alisha‘s birthday and so Mom and me made our way to their place for lunch.

Lil white mouse came over in the evening and spent a good portion chatting with the rest of my family. We went out for dinner at the Subway in the area. Dropped her off at the station and got back home. I have to go to work tomorrow. Half of eClerx is on off.

Today was one tiring day, of which I spent little time at home.

Awoke nice and late (I need to start sleeping earlier) and left to meet Trupti to give her some stuff.
Just as I was about to leave I realized that I didn’t have my bike. I had given it to James who will be looking after it while I’m in SCMHRD.

Had to travel to his bro’s place at RNA Heights to pickup the bike and found out that he didn’t carry the helmet. So, it was back home to pickup my helmet and gloves and so reached a bit late at InOrbit.

I don’t like being late, but then a girl in a mall will never get lonely

And it was Subway today as well. (Visited Subway yesterday with my brother and it was my lunch and dinner).

Was there sometime before dropping her off my my journey home. Got home, had barely some time with my love and I was off to an eye doctor to get my eyes checked. It’s been over two years since I visited and opthamologist and decided its high time (of course Mom kept grumbling to ensure I do it).

We arrived very early and so killed time with kachoris and sugarcane juice

Spent a great deal of time at the doctor because in addition to getting my eyes checked I also got the retina checked. Had drops put into my eyes which dilates the pupils and also resulted in the title of this post.

Eyesight’s back to normal now and hence the blogger in me had to post about it.

Let me take the liberty of saying that my weekend began on Friday, which was indeed one of the longest days this week.

Friday got me wandering into town in public transport. Began this journey by standing in a long queue for train tickets. Caught the Churchgate fast to get to Marine Lines.

I wanted to stop by at Furtado to pick up an adapter for my Casio keyboard. The adapter for some reason went missing a while back. Did see one, but needed to reconfirm the specs. Don’t want to spend money on something that won’t work!

After this we stopped for lunch at Sassanian (hope I got this spelling correct). It’s a small Parsi joint with decent food, and I was hungry.

We then walked all the way from Marine Lines to the Oxford bookstall in Churchgate where we did pick up a book, following which the walk continued to Regal in Colaba to watch The Holiday (review coming later).

Made my way back to Andheri is rush hour traffic. Hence, made sure I caught an Andheri local from Churchgate itself.

Got home and left immediately for choir practice, which was longer because of practice for two masses. Practice ended with pani-puri.

Amita brought in her birthday with a party on Friday which went on till the wee hours of the morning. Danced a little, ate more than a little

Spent half of Saturday in bed and woke up straight for lunch. Had the wedding mass in the evening following which we dropped in at Subway for the after-mass snack.

Sunday was a rather uneventful day. My internet was down so it was kind of boring. Did venture out for my regular Mock CET only to find that it was to be held at Wadala … I had no prior intimation X(

The internet finally has come back online now, after my third trip to their office. I’m seriously evaluating alternatives.

Except for yesterday the week so far has not let me sit down and take a deep breath. I began the week by helping a friend setup her new computer. This took up both Monday and Tuesday.

The only thing frustrating about both days was the travelling, which was at a snails pace for a good distance. Constructions and continuously increasing number of vehicles has resulted in horrible traffic right from Kherwadi, Bandra upto Juhu Airport.

As I said, I spent all of Wednesday at home except the evening to get some documents attested, which was only a few minutes.

Today was the most tiring day of them all. I went to Government Polytechnic in Bandra to complete the formalities for CET 2007. Last year I had headed off to this place after standing in a long line at SPCE and expected a small line this time too.

This was not to be as when we got there we were at the entrance of the building and had to climb another three floors.

The result was a long wait of four hours before the work could get done. Also ended up joining others in shouting at shameless people who broke the line. Sure can be pissing off. But, the shouting was totally uncharacteristic of me!

Have finally got my hall ticket. My center is IES (King George) School in Dadar for the test and Jamnalal Bajaj for the the GDPI.

Met up with James after a brief stopover at home to go shopping. Had to pick up a gift, but ended up picking up three tshirts for me.

We stopped over at Subway after this as I needed to get some food into my stomach.

Before this, I had also visited a Hutch shop to shut down a billing number only to be told to fax the letter. Will get this done tomorrow. It’s extremely simple to get a new number, but it sure is complicated when you want to disable it!

I’m really exhausted. My internet is still playing tricks on me and a visit there today has resulted in promises of two days. We shall see…

Met up with my “two year treaty” friend today. The name because I first met her two years back and now we plan to meet two years down the line!

Anyway, we went to the food court InOrbit in Malad. I’ve realized inspite of the wide choice you have to pick what you want to eat, there isn’t much I would eat.

After she gorged into a Subway sandwich, I decided to take one. My last experience with Subway wasn’t too good and a pal of mine has kept telling me to stick to the non-veg.

Decided to do that today when I ordered the Turkey Chicken Ham & Bacon Melt. It is one expensive but extremely filling sandwich!

Just got back home sometime back. Not much roaming planned in the next three weeks…
