We chose Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. We had to rate their Inventory Turnover, Asset Turnover and Cash-to-cash cycle time to arrive at the final rating.

Yesterday was Pongal, which is a festival celebrated by Tamils on the first day of Thai to mark the harvest. As part of Pongal, there was a special lunch organized with a huge variety of food, sweets etc.

Needless to say I ate a good deal

Spent the rest of the day in my room blogging, catching up on reading and the usual. Asked my roommates to pickup sandwiches from Subway just as they did on Monday. Now, someone needs to go off to the city on Friday

As part of Pongal, there was

Marise’s friend Priyanka’s marriage was on the 15th and as part of our custom, both the bride and the groom have an individual roce which is a traditional function.

The roce was held on her building terrace in Kurla, which required me to ride in terrible traffic out there. Got there very early in spite of this.

Early did mean that I had to wait for a while before the function actually started… an hour later.

The usual dirtying of the bride-to-be took place followed by dancing. We left the place and I dropped Marise home.

The next day was rather silent. Saturday was the big day of the wedding. Being free in the morning, I decided to head over to Big Bazaar, this time in Mulund. My last two experiences were rather bad. However, since I had Rs. 1,400 in discount coupons, I had to go make and expense. Picked up a black sweather that shall hopefuly assist me this winter. I spent last winter borrowing jackets from Ravi.

Also picked up a salwar piece for Mom, who celebrated her birthday on Sunday.

Saturday evening was the wedding. The reception was held at St. Josephs in Bandra. Marise’s sister and dad were trigger happy and I was able to collect quite a few images.

Stayed over at my grandma’s that evening and convinced her to come back with me on the bike. That would have made an excellent photo

Sunday was Mom’s birthday. Just a quiet lunch to which Marise came over. She left in the evening.

Spent Monday visiting banks and my barber in the morning and the rest of the day at home.

Caught the first bus from Mumbai to Pune on Tuesday morning and reach here by 10am itself.

Classes began yesterday with a full four hour class from 6.30pm on Advances in Supply Chain, followed by Strategic Marketing and Advances in Supply Chain lectures today. Thus ends the lectures for this week.

Placements is just around the corner and well I kinda tensed. A well kept secret atleast on the blog was my Preplacement Offer from the company I was in for summers, which I rejected last week since it wasn’t up to my expectations. The scene is bad this year, so my fingers are crossed.

After strugging for three days with SAS, we finalized and gave our presentation on Monday.

On Tuesday we had our Financial Statement Analysis re-mid term. I missed the original exam due to the CGN Thought Process Improvement workshop.

Prepared well for it. Can’t afford to risk an important exam in finance.

Today was a relatively lighter day and spent some time blogging. Finished our International Economics report and now have to work on my Supply Chain Modeling assignment due tomorrow.

There is an Mergers and Acquisitions valuation that also needs to be done by weekend along with yet another presentation.

A little more than a week remains before my final exams begin. So much to do, so little time!

Woke up at 6.45am today to give the Supply Chain Modeling FCQ. The exam started at 7.15am amidst confusion and clarification over the 1st question. This turned out to be the easier and the solvable one for me. I knew the solution for the second one on paper but had absolutely no clue how to convert the solution into Excel

Whichever subject I choose, operations research follows me :’(

This followed by a quick breakfast and then a Social Entrepreneurship class in which we gave a presentation on Ibrahim Abouleish and Sekem.

Have been working on Financial Statement Analysis. Our topic is Jet Airways.

Don’t know when exactly I’m going to hit the bed tonight.

The last few days in Mumbai were extremely painful as the day to leave draw close! Spent a good amount of time with Marise on those days

Set off for Pune at about 8.30am on 15th, got the bus around 9am and spent over four hours in the bus. It has been my longest journey to Pune ever and the bus guy decided to stop at every single place in an attempt to fill all the seats!

Reported to the hostel, picked up my keys, dumped my stuff and rushed off to college to attend the Supply Chain Modelling and Design lecture which got canceled!

The rooms in the hostel are much smaller than the ones in the old hostel. The cafeteria closes too early, is more expensive and serves something called food I don’t know what the mess serves.

We went off to the city to watch The Happening. It was a rather unhappening movie! Will write a detailed review later.

Then the lectures hit! Four hours of FSA on Friday followed by six hours of M&A on Saturday and four hours of Project Management on both Sunday and Monday along with four hours of Corporate Finance on Monday!

The remaining days have been lighter, except that there has been a lot of assignment work. And, I thought that third semester would be lighter!

We just semi-finished one assignment due in the next 12 hours. Got about five hours of lectures tomorrow along with Milaap.
