Comment Policy

A Blog can only be interactive with active participation of it’s visitors. I love interacting with all my visitors and while it gives me great pleasure to see my regular visitors commenting, it is even great pleasure to have new commenters joining this discussion.

This page highlights the policies that are in place here.

The Comment Process

Comment Spam

This blog is protected by Akismet and Simple Spam Filter

Simple Spam Filter provides a great deal of protection against spambots and is my first line of defence against spam.

Akismet is my next line of defence.

Comment Moderation

All comments in this blog are moderated. I review and approve comments as quickly as I can. Please refrain from resubmitting your comment, if it doesn’t appear right away.

Once your first comment has been approved, your future comments will usually skip the moderation queue and directly appear on this site. :)

While the anti-spam and moderation process are usually error free, it is not perfect. If you feel that your comments are not appearing on this site, please write to me so that I can look into the matter.

Things To Follow

Valid Identification Details

Please enter your correct name or nickname in the Name field. Any SEO names or website names are not accepted and will be immediately marked as spam.

Please use your valid email address, while commenting. It will not be displayed on the blog and will remain only with me. Comments with incorrect or invalid email addresses are immediately deleted (even if the content is valid).

You may optionally enter the URL to your website.

Language, Length, and Format

This blog has a diverse audience with different sensibilities and opinions. That said, please avoid harsh language and the use of profanity. Flaming or use of threatening language is not allowed nor will it be tolerated. Please ensure that you adhere to the rules at all times.

I speak, read, write and understand English, Hindi and Marathi.

If you feel rather strongly about an entry and you find your creative juices flowing, consider publishing it as a thought on your own blog and trackback or pingback.

If trackback is disabled, you are welcome to leave a comment summarizing your entry with a link to continue reading it.

Ideally, keep your comment short and to the point.

Linking and Signatures

You are given the option of entering your site URL while you are commenting. In addition you can add links to your comments. Please ensure that the links are valid and in relation to the entry.

I do not use rel="nofollow" for any of the links. I believe that if you will be contributing to this blog, you have the right to link back to your site.

Please don’t view this as an opportunity to promote or advertise your website in the comments. Excessive and/or inappropriate links will be removed.

A signature in your comment is optional. Please restrict the length of your signature to a max of 2 lines. Do not link to your site in the signature. The Website field already provides you that option.

Using Valid XHTML

Please use valid XHTML when posting your comment.

Bad: <a href="?">click here</a>
Good: <a href="?" title="Google Homepage">Google's homepage</a>

Comment Editting

This blog doesn’t allow you to edit your comments. However, if you feel you need to correct your comment, feel free to post another comment with the correction or email me requesting the change.

I reserve the right to edit or delete comments as I feel necessary. Blatant spelling and grammatical errors will be edited and serious edits will be notated at the end of the comment.

If your comment conveys a coherent thought, it may just be edited; tirades will most likely be deleted. At no time will I attempt to alter the core meaning of a comment.

Final Words

You, and only you, are responsible for your words. They are yours and you get to keep them. However, by posting your comments to the blog you are granting me the right, in perpetuity, to use, alter, and/or display them as I see fit.

Thanks,
Ajay D’Souza
