The much awaited day arrived and I set off with Swapnil for the tour of Larsen & Toubro, the company where I will begin my first job 🙂
Besides our college SPCE, there were other GETs from VJTI, DJ Sanghvi, Somaiya, TSEC, UICT and others.
The tour begain with a short presentation about L&T. This was followed by a tour of the Heavy Engineering Department (HED), where L&T makes mega tonne boilers and other such appliances. The size of these boilers is massive and L&T also has the distinction of making the largest boiler in the world:O:O
After this we were take to the Electrical and Electronics Business Group (EBG) where we were given a short overview of this department via a presentation. This was followed up with a tour of the shop-floor, where the electrical devices like switches, Air Circuit Breakers (ACB) and Moulded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) are made. This was one field me, as an Electronics Student was able to identify with.
Following this, we broke up for lunch (delicious pav bhaji). I was also able to collect my L&T T-shirt, which is a perfect fit and looks really cool 🙂
Also had a long talk with Mr. Sanghavi, who is mainly involved with the recruiting process besides intereacting a lot with us. He was also kind enough to drop me to my kine, while my other friends to the station!
Guess that wraps up one of the most amazing days since a long long time!
