A Tale too many – Part I

Have had rather intense last two weeks.

Had a rather normal work week.

Treated Melody at Golden Orchid in Bandra for my MT results on Friday night.

I woke up early on Saturday morning (30th April) and switched on my PC as usual only to find that it gives a Disk Read Error.
No floppies in the drive nor any CDs in my writer or DVD-ROM drive.

Thought it to be a problem with my HDD, probably a bad MBR.
So I tried to boot up from my WinXP cd only to find that my writer refuses to read the CD 🙁

Disconnected it and connected the ROM only and finally was able to boot up and run FIXMBR
Still no change 🙁
I must also say that in the midst of this I found out that 5Star no longer provides Sify services and so I needed to get my Internet connection changed X( :O

Watched xXx: State of the Union in Suburbia. This is the sequel movie to xXx starring Vin Diesel.

XXX2

NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons (Jackson), fresh off the success of his last renegade recruitment, once again finds himself in need of an outsider. Gibbons and his new agent (Ice Cube) must track a dangerous military splinter group, led by Willem Dafoe, that is conspiring to overthrow the U.S. Government in the nation’s capital.

Was hoping for a similar experience, but I was left wanting. The movie had some good scenes but it heavily missed out the Vin Diesel factor.

Went with her to Pizza Hut after the movie and had more than our fill before I dropped her home.

Next stop was Sacred Heart Church for a 3-in-1 wedding mass. Got there well in time. The singing could have been better, but we were well appreciated.

After the mass, we headed off to Garnish for snacks.

Rhea as usual returns with me. Got stuck in a horrible traffic jam on the way back.
Also paid a visit to the 5star office to arrange for the internet connection.

After eating a good stomach full, Rhea came over to spend some time.

Tried to format and reinstall Windows XP on my PC but the formatting just wouldn’t. Dropped Rhea home and got back and it was still stuck at 91%. Left it overnight and got the error message saying that it can’t format my drive :O
Even worse on restarting I got a S.M.A.R.T. failure for the driving.
Anyway, was able to do a Quick Format into FAT32 and reinstalled WinXP and have been running this makeshift install for the past one week as Samsung 160GB SATA drives are not available in the market 🙁

Just whiled away the time and in the evening set off to Abhijeet Jana‘s place.

Read A Tale too many – Part II for the trip to Lonavala.
