[…]a good deal of it partying with the Goan Association gettogether, the Christmas dance and the New year celebrations, besides a lot of outings, dinners and movies! Overall I think this year was pretty good. Except for a few frustrating moments and times when things didn’t work out, I have done a lot. Work has been tiring but I have learnt and established a good deal. On the personal front I know I have grown in many ways. I have made many more friends but lost a few :(. On the social front I have been overactive! Have definitely improved […]
[…]drive in during those days. Helps avoid close interactions in the overcrowded tube and bus. This year is an important year, so wish me luck! Health It’s probably the first time I’ve put a separate a separate category for this. I started the year in recovery after a turbinate reduction operation which has massively improved my breathing. I still have to undertake a sleep study in the next couple of months but we’ll cross that bridge then. […]meetups incredibly fun. Getting ready for WCEU I had planned to attend WordCamp London last year, but it was cancelled due to costs. So, this year, I decided to take the plunge and book my way to Turin to attend WCEU 2024. I booked my flights and hotel in February. I had hesitated to book the hotel and could not get the NH Lingotto, which was closest to the venue. I booked the AC Hotel which is about 10 minutes away and was still available at a discount. I used my last Amex voucher along with my miles to book […]

[…]the pond to see the massive pools where the two towers used to stand. In 2001, I was in my second year at SPCE in India when we saw the news. It’s little wonder that September 11 will be forever be etched in our memories. With exhaustion catching up with us and also because we needed to make an early start on Tuesday, Ashwina and I headed back to our service apartment to call it a […]
[…]gradually over several days! Unlike other years, Ashwina and I decided to spend 2019 Christmas and New Year in India. We were also celebrating my dad’s mother’s 90th birthday, albeit a few months after she turned 90! We also had Dad and Arun coming down from Toronto along with Ferdy and his family. After long and busy 2019, we were definitely looking forward to spending some quiet time with family and friends which I’m pleased that we were able to. A few highlights from our trip which spanned Pune and Mumbai. Pune Although we landed in Mumbai, we decided to […]
[…]Mote Ightham Mote, near Sevenoaks in Kent, is a medieval moated manor house. With over 700 years of history, it features stunning architecture and beautifully preserved interiors. The surrounding gardens and woodland walks add to the enchantment of this historic gem. It’s also a place we had visited last year. This time we were accompanied by Ashwina’s parents who are staying with us for a few months. Scotney Castle Yet another place that we returned to for the third time. Scotney Castle, in Lamberhurst, Kent, is a romantic 14th-century moated castle. The estate includes picturesque gardens and a Victorian country […]
