Patch Work

Was fiddling around with MSN Messenger today for a nick and by chance stumbled upon a symbol that looks like patchwork:

Patch Work!

This just started me thinking about how we can take life to be a big torn sheet, and how we struggle to “repair” the sheet by just patching it. Different patches, different colours, different materials.

The patches could represent different people in our life “full of holes”. We use people to fill the gaps in our lives. Sometimes these patches are strong and last a lifetime. Some are weak and tear immediately. Others fade away with time, while still others weaken.

Maybe I’m looking at life wrong. Maybe I should look at life as a big strong sheet, perfect and then I put patches on it and spoil it. Maybe my patches are weakening the fabric.

I don’t know. I don’t want to know.

  1. In your life you meet people.
    Some you never think about again.
    Some you wonder what happened to them.
    There are some that you wonder if they ever think about you.
    And then there are some you wish you never had to think about again;
    but you do.
