Red Eye tells the story of a young hotel manager Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) who after attending the funeral of her grandmother is on her way back to Miami to make it in time for work the next day. She takes the much delayed Red Eye flight of
Fresh Air where she meets Jack Ripner (Cillian Murphy).Soon after take off she realizes that she is infact kidnapped by Jack who
needs her in order to assassinate William Keefe (Jack Scalia), head of Homeland Security. Jack threatens her with her father’s death if she refuses to co-operate. At 30000 feet and nowhere to run, what does she do?
Simply put the movie was excellent and I a bit surprised by the lacklustre rating at IMDB. Have given it a generous vote
The scenes are very well done and both actors do their parts perfectly. Two scenes I really loved in the movie is her fight with him in her house. Sat the edge of my chair wondering what would happen next.
Another scene though short is the firing of the rocket from a boat far offshore right up to the top floor of Keefe’s suite.
Additionally, there are quite a few good quotes thrown in. This one’s what men would love.
Jack: Whatever female-based, emotion-driven dilemma you may be dealing with
right now, I sympathize with you. But right now, we need to break this down into
male-based, fact-driven logic.
It does get a bit gross towards the end, but is definitely manageable.
If you love thrillers or just want to watch a different kind of movie this is one definite must watch.
My rating: 7/10
