    Better Search v2.0

Better Search just got massively better with v2.0.0. If you’ve been using WordPress’ default search engine then you’ll know by now that WordPress doesn’t give you relevant search results for your search terms. You’ll get posts that contain the search term ordered by date. Better Search completely replaces the inbuilt WordPress search engine by a contextual based search fetching you more relevant search results. For v2.0.0, I spent a lot of time completely cleaning up all the code, fixing a lot of bugs and adding in a tonne of new features. The biggest addition to the plugin is several new and many improved filters and actions that will allow developers…

    Contextual Related Posts v1.9.1

I released v1.9.1 of Contextual Related Posts yesterday. This version adds a new meta box in your Add/Edit Post screen. You’ll also find this in the similar screens for Pages and other Custom Post Types. The meta-box currently provides you with a single field that allows you to specify the URL of the thumbnail that you wish to use in case a Featured Thumbnail isn’t set for the post. In a future version of the plugin, this will be given priority over the Featured Thumbnail. The meta box will use the same meta field as specified in the General Settings. If you’re using the default field name i.e. post-image and you’re using my…

    Contextual Related Post v1.8.10

Two days back I pushed through the latest version of Contextual Related Posts. The latest version of Contextual Related Posts adds two new features. Existing users will be able to update it from within your dashboard. If you’re new to CRP, I strongly suggest giving this a test drive. You won’t want to switch back from my plugin! You can now limit the number of characters of content that will be compared. This can be a big boost to performance especially if you have very huge posts. Another feature addition is the ability to add the post title into the header of the posts. I have also changed the class…

    Top 10 v1.9.8.5

Late last night I pushed through a minor release of Top 10. v1.9.8.5 which mainly contains some tweaks to make your experience using the plugin better. Now, the author name that is displayed in the list (if you choose to do so), will be the Public Name which is what you set in the Profile page. There is a brand new function (“get_tptn_post_count_only“) that allows you to get just the count. Changes in Top 10 1.9.8.5 Modified: Including the author in the list will now use the Display Name which is set under “Display name publicly as” in the User Profile page Fixed: If the Thumbnail meta field is omitted…

    Top 10 v1.9.8.3

The last update of Top 10 broke the number of days used when displaying the list of daily posts. v1.9.8.3 now fixes this bugs and also includes some other minor changes. I’ve also fixed some of the initialisation errors in the Top 10 widget. As usual, if you have any bugs to report, please use the WordPress Support Forums. Due to the volume of requests it is just not possible for me to entertain any support queries via comments, email or Twitter. If you’re a current user and love this plugin, do consider leaving a good review and maybe even a small (or big) donation. Coffee $5.00 USDCoffee and Sandwich…

    Top 10 v1.9.8.2

I’ve uploaded the latest update of Top 10 and current users of the plugin should be able to see the update within their WordPress Dashboards now. This release adds a few new features that have been requested by users of the plugin. A key feature addition is the replacement of the single column in your “All Posts” page with two separate columns for Total and Daily respectively. You can also sort the columns by highest or lowest count. Few other changes include an option to include the author in the list item. The last update had the option to add the date and the author was the next on the…

    Top 10 v1.9.7 and 100,000 downloads

Released a tiny update to Top 10 a few days back in an attempt to find a solution to the tracking issue that was introduced in v1.9.5. Users now have an option to turn on jQuery to track plugin visits. You’ll find that as “W3 Total Cache fix”. And, last week Top 10 crossed 100,000 downloads. Am glad this plugin has received such good acceptance and I thank all of the users of this plugin for this! If you’ve been using Top 10, why not give it a 5-star review. If you’re facing issues do use the support forums since it is one centralised place that I can easily monitor.

    Top 10 v1.9.6

Update: v1.9.6 still has bugs on some installs where the Ajax is not run and counts are not incremented. I pushed through relatively minor updates to Top 10. The main reason for this update was to get the plugin working better with W3 Total Cache where counts weren’t updated due to its aggressive caching. The title of the posts also have their very own title tag which allows you to separately style this. And, lastly, users can now turn on or off the counting for overall and / or daily posts. So, if you don’t need the daily counter, you’ll get some performance improvements. v1.9.6 fixes bugs introduced in v1.9.5…

    Top 10 v1.9.3 and v1.9.4

Following quick on the heels of Contextual Related Posts v1.8.7, I’ve uploaded Top 10 v1.9.3 to the plugin repository. Top 10 will count the number of page views on your single posts on a daily as well as overall basis. You can then display the page view count on individual posts and pages as well as display a list of most popular posts based on page views. This is an important update that fixes a potential XSS vulnerability in the settings page plus some bug fixes. I’ve also added two new classes for styling the widgets. If you’ve any questions please do use the support forums, as they are the best…

    Add to All v1.0.3

I just pushed through an update to my utility plugin Add to All. Add to All is a powerful plugin that will allow you to add custom code or CSS to your header, footer, content or feed. Add to All comes with out of the box support for Google Analytics, Statcounter, Kontera, with other third party services in the pipeline. The main change to this version is the new Content options. This was mainly driven by my need to add Google Adsense before and after the content of the post without editing the theme. Besides Adsense, you can also add just about any HTML code in these boxes. Simple checkboxes…
