We are leaving work today at 3.00pm What I wonder now is what time will I actually reach home. I’m sure my internet at home is not working, so I may post feedback tomorrow… Not only was the internet down, but also the electricity in the area was turned off. We left and I was able to get a nice picture of the skyline outside our campus as you can see on the right. (Hint: Can be used as wallpaper) The journey home was quick because there was absolutely no traffic on the roads. BEST buses had stopped plying and most people were at home. Had to walk home through…
Woke up early Monday morning to find that the rains had only worsened. It has been pouring right from Saturday morning, so I have no doubt that a good portion of Mumbai is flooded. Finding a rickshaw was extremely difficult. Finally managed to convince a guy. Had to take a different route because M.I.D.C. area was badly flooded. I’m surprised how Sakshi manages to travel every single day to MIDC. She has to go through lot more waterlogged areas on her way from Juhu. I was fully clad in my new rain jacket and the rain pants as well as my floaters so I remained very dry all the way…
Ended up late in office yesterday because of a discussion on whom to handover the projects I am working and have worked on. Only once the handover is complete, will I be able to leave. That seems normal, except that hardware just refuses to work! Sometimes I guess life as a software designer would be a lot easier. Atleast I know that when something isn’t working as it is, then most probably it is a logic problem. Here, after verifying all the firmware and logic the damn hardware fails! At this rate, I really wonder when I am going to finish the handovers :((
After much deliberation, discussion and consultation, I finally put in my resignation at Larsen & Toubro Ltd. It was a really hard decision to take. But, it will be for the best. I don’t know when I will be relieved, but I am hoping for the earliest so that I can hit my books. With that I am now a poor man… Any generous person like to support my work?
My company sent me for a two day training on Effective Business Communication. The training was held at our Powai campus, which is close to home so I was more than happy to attend the same on Thursday and Friday. 50% of what we learn is lost in the first 24 hours and 90% over the next six months. The best thing to avoid this is to tell someone about it. Thanks to blogs, today we can tell more than just one about the same. Well, it’s more than 24 hours, so I am going to do my best to note what I learnt. The workshop was conducted by Anita…
Had to attend my Grandma’s birthday party last evening and since my bike was giving problems I decided to use public transport to get back home from work. Left my workplace a little after 3.30pm and hitched a ride with a colleague heading towards Thane. His plans changed and I had to get off at Rabale and find a bus or auto heading towards Airoli. For those who aren’t aware, the transport in Navi Mumbai SUCKS! After a good deal of waiting I a 513 arrived and I jumped in as it heads towards Mulund.
Yesterday was a tiring day at work. Some module related issue needed to be sorted out. I haven’t worked on the module for over a year and being a lesser used one, no one else has either. Spent the entire day down in the shopfloor working on the module and the setup and just when I was getting ready to stay late, the module worked around 6.05pm. Wrapped up immediately and left for the day 😀 Reached home past eight and was really zonked. My bike still needs repair (story about this coming later). Hope to do it today.
I’ve had a nice long week at work. Rather packed and tiring and I don’t see it getting better and I am not complaining! Anyway, the weekend is here and I’ve already started making full use of it. Have quite a few things already planned up for the next two days. So lets see how things work out!
That’s what it has been from Saturday the 15th to Saturday the 21st. While Saturday the 15th was because of Easter vigil, Sunday was because of Delilah’s Birthday. Monday and Friday was only because of work. Left late every single day of the week, some days as bad as past 9pm!
Monday to Sunday has been a long week. Monday began with me rushing home after work to make it in time for choir practice. We were singing for Maundy Thursday and needed the practice. Tuesday was the C&A Annual Party in celebration of us reaching (if not crossing) our sales target. This time it was held at The Residency in Powai. Gorged on the amazing food there. My size definitely doesn’t show my ability to eat 😀 And so was the desert … 😀 The party went on till past 10.30pm and we had to get back to work the next day on time!
