Contextual Related Posts v1.5.1 with Post Thumbnail support

I’d like to announce that I have updated my plugin Contextual Related Posts: Display a list of contextually related posts for the current post. You can select the number of posts to display and if you want to automatically display the related posts in your content / feed. The new version of Connections Reloaded fixes a bug that didn’t allow you to modify the number of posts to display. The major update has been the support for WordPress 2.9, especially the thumbnail support. The plugin will first check if the post contains a thumbnail. If it doesn’t then it will check the meta field (configurable). If this is not available,…

You can then display the page view count on individual posts and pages as well as display a list of most popular posts based on page views. What is Where did they go from here? Contextual Related Posts v1.4.2 released

Just pushed up an update to Contextual Related Posts. Display a list of contextually related posts for the current post. You can select the number of posts to display and if you want to automatically display the related posts in your content / feed. I received a few messages about the plugin throwing up mySQL errors in the admin. This was a “feature” that I had included which well, wasn’t that successful. So this release fixes this problem. I also received feedback that double quotes in the title were messing up the backend interface. This update fixes that as well. The update also ensures that if for whatever reason you…

Minor updates to CRP and Better Search

I’ve uploaded two minor updates to CRP and Better Search, while the upgrade to Contextual Related Posts is optional, Better Search is a required update. Contextual Related Posts lets you display a list of contextually related posts for the current post. It does this by analyzing the title and content of your post and finding the most relevant posts based on this. In this release to CRP, I’ve added the Italian language which has been provided by Gianni and the Danish translation from Georg. Gianni has provided the Italian translation for Top 10 as well, while Georg has provided the Danish translation for TwitterCounter. All the translations are available when…

    Update to Contextual Related Posts

I’ve just updated my Contextual Related Posts to v1.4 Display a list of contextually related posts for the current post. You can select the number of posts to display and if you want to automatically display the related posts in your content / feed. The main changes in this version are the complete internationalization support, which means, as usual I am hunting for translators for this plugin. I have also added an extra button to recreate the mySQL FULLTEXT index. I suggest all users hitting the button at least once as the plugin now creates indexes for the title and the post content separately. This is the first step towards…

Just updated my plugin Contextual Related Posts to v1.3.1. This is a tiny release that fixes a bug where "No related posts" was displayed even if you chose the option to blank out the release. I’ve uploaded the release to the WordPress repository and it should appear within your WordPress Plugins page, so you can upgrade from there directly. Contextual Related Posts v1.3 Released

Yup, I know this is a quick release but the main reason for this version is some optimization and some bug fixes. For starters I’ve fixed a problem with too many queries being generated by the plugin. Thanks to jaggerkieth for finding and pointing this out. This has now been fixed (at least my tests reveal so). Do give it a shot and let me know how it works for you. I’ve also rewritten small parts of the code for even better optimization and quicker execution. I also noticed a slight conflict with Simple Tags plugin which has been fixed in this release. I have also optimized the administration area.…

The new features available are: You can now choose to either display “No Related Posts Found” or simply blank out the output Exclude posts from certain categories. You need to enter the category slugs. Complete auto-complete available for this, so you don’t need to remember the slugs!
