Where did they go from here v1.1 released

I’ve released v1.1 of my WordPress Plugin Where did they go from here?

For those unaware, this plugin will show “Readers who viewed this page, also viewed” links on your page. This is similar to Amazon’s product pages which state “Readers who have bought this, also bought”.

So, what’s new?

  • I’ve used Ajax for tracking the posts now. This means the plugins should be more compatible with caching plugins like WP Super Cache.
  • Also made a few tweaks that should improve tracking. So, if you’ve found that your posts are not being tracked do give it a shot.
  • The list of posts now display in a separate column in Edit pages / posts of WP-Admin. It displays the Post IDs with a link to them. Hover over the links to view the title of the post.
  • #N/A used to be displayed when no posts were found, which wasn’t very pleasing to the eye. Now, nothing is displayed in case no posts are found.

What’s next?

I’ve dropped the idea of creating a widget to display the posts in the sidebar. If you think this is a bad idea, let me know, I’ll put it into the TODO list again.

I’m looking for suggestions on what else you would like to see. So do comment.

I’ve updated the plugin page for a better explanation of what exactly this plugin does.

Current users should see the updates available in your plugins page in WP-Admin. Alternatively, read more or download the plugin.

Lastly, I’ve been using Twitter extensively for providing information about impending releases of my plugins etc. You can also use it to send me suggestions updates etc. You can follow @ajaydsouza for updates. If you do, let me know so that I can follow you as well 🙂
